British Horror “The Moor” Heading to Haunt UK Cinemas and Digital HD

Bulldog Film Distribution has confirmed the long-awaited UK release dates for the British chiller in horror: “The Moor.” Directed by Chris Cronin, the film will be released across UK cinemas from 14th June and be available on Digital HD from the 1st of July. Starring Sophia La Porta, David Edward-Robertson, and Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips and introducing the late great British acting legend Bernard Hill, “The Moor” curves through a blood-chilling tale of unresolved bereavement and supernatural terror. Here’s the story of Claire, who, when her childhood friend’s convicted killer gets paroled for good behavior, teams up with him—she with the victim’s father, Bill.

Together with psychic Eleanor, they make their way across eerie moorland, said to hold dark secrets and restless spirits—the hierarchy includes something malevolent lurking beneath the surface.

The directorial debut by Chris Cronin received critical acclaim upon its world premiere at Pigeon Shrine FrightFest, taking up a place in the highly esteemed ‘First Blood’ strand. More importantly, it received from Total Film’s FrightFest Awards 2023 the nominations for Best Director and Best Film, beside winning Best Scare. On the thematic depth of the film,

Director Chris Cronin commented, “My aim with ‘The Moor’ was to come up with an original horror story set in Yorkshire about tragedy aftermath, unrest due to unresolved grief, and how acutely horror can blow up human emotions and one-on-one confrontations to have the audience answer some deeper questions through suspense and tension.”

“” tees The Moorup a visceral cinematic experience—a dark tale that asks the audience to engross and join in. Tickets are now available before its theatrical release in UK cinemas on 14 June and Digital HD on 1 July, including Q&A viewings.
